ColorPerfect Video
In this mini video series, I share my experience using ColorPerfect to convert black-and-white film negatives into positives from Linear RAW scans created with VueScan.
Why ColorPerfect?
For years, I used VueScan, Epson Scan, and SilverFast, all of which produced good results. However, I often found myself tweaking the scanner’s software controls extensively to get the results I wanted. What I was really seeking was a way to produce scans without needing to rely heavily on the scanning software as an editor, which led me to ColorPerfect.
Why a Mini Video Series?
While ColorPerfect offers the results I’m after, like any powerful software, there’s a learning curve. The interface can initially seem complicated, and some controls aren’t immediately intuitive. Fortunately, when working with black-and-white negatives, we only need to master a few key controls.
Having gained a solid understanding of these, I’ve created this short video series to demonstrate how I use VueScan to produce a Linear RAW scan and then use ColorPerfect to convert the negative into a positive TIFF file.
