The Lightroom Tone Curve can also be used to enhance the final black and white print.

We can do this by creating a custom Lightroom Tone Curve which maps the grey values seen on screen to the actual grey values printed on a particular paper stock.

Just because we see a certain grey value on screen doesn’t mean that we are going to achieve the same value in the final print. One way to get a closer match is to create a custom LightroomTone Curve for printing.

The process for creating this custom print curve is quite straight forward, we print a step-wedge, measure the patches and then apply the results to the tone curve.
